It's been a while. A month, to be exact. Everything progressed smoothly. The wound doctor proclaimed that I'd make a great case study. I moved from a cast into a cam-walker at week 10. Now, 4 days from 12 weeks, I think the infection is back. Two days ago, the tendon/ankle started getting really sore. I thought I'd strained it or something, even with the cam-walker on. It was pretty swollen, but I rationalized that the swelling is normal. Today I noticed a lump of swelling right at the bottom of the incision scar. It's red, spongy, warm. I really want to scream and cry. So close! Tuesday's visit to the wound doc was supposed to be my last.
It's been so nice to be a part of life and part of my family again. I may have to take another hiatus.
