No pictures today, sorry. :)
First I went to the wound doctor - again we were impressed with him and the nurse. They were both very happy with progress, and exclaimed over the improvement. They found the suture string interesting, but since I was going to see my surgeon right after, they left it for him. The yellow glob at the bottom of the wound is "slough," not infection, but the stuff the infection created, which my body is expelling. We asked if they were going to scrape it out, and they said no, they'd let it drain out naturally. The doctor said if school would make the accommodations, I could go back. He stressed sitting still and keeping the leg up.
Next I went to see my surgeon. He cut the string out, and while he was there, he cut off the slough and dug some more out. Interesting. I'm sure next Tuesday, the wound doctor/nurse are going to find that interesting, too. He also cultured it again. No new cast. There was a lot of blood.
Anyway, I'm going back to work again. Let's hope that this time things go better!
Great news...not about the blood and the digging and the mysterious hospital silly string that no one seems to know about, but the being-able-to-go-back-to-work part. I am still praying for you and Sarah.
